The CORNERSTONE CHORALE will perform a concert of choral music conducted by Music Director, Richard Stout. The Spring project will feature the charming Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo (Kleine Orgelmesse) of Joseph Haydn as its centerpiece. This piece, though not as expansive as the last six masses of Haydn, has all the compositional and expressive qualities associated with some of the best works of the master. Along with that, the chorale will sing some other pieces including Palestrina's Alma Redemptoris Mater, the beautiful Laudate Pueri for treble voices of Mendelssohn, the Kaddish of Salamone Rossi, and the Ave Verum Corpus of Mozart. We will perform the Haydn and Mozart with string ensemble accompaniment. While we have performed some of this repertoire before, we would like to bring it to Good Shepherd for the first time.
